It is the first Star Fox game since Star Fox 2 (2017) and a reboot of the series as a whole.[b] It is a remake of Star Fox 64 (1997) and the fifth game using the story of the original Star Fox. It expands on 64's level design, story, and gameplay mechanics, while introducing new character designs. The game is set for release worldwide on June 25, 2026.
