“EUCARISTIA SOLENE” – Festa de Santo António – Ilha de São Jorge (14.06.2026)

Yesterday, Sunday the 14th of this month of June, the Feast in honor of Saint Anthony, patron saint of Santo António, took place in the village of Norte Grande, municipality of Velas, São Jorge Island (Azores). The Feast was organized by Cristina Nascimento, a native of Santo António. The Feast program included a Solemn Eucharist and a procession in the late afternoon. The Solemn Eucharist was presided over by Father Sandro Costa and concelebrated by Father Pedro Aguiar, parish priest of this village. The liturgical chants were provided by the Santo António Choir, with the participation of some members from Toledo, Norte Grande and Ribeira D'Areia. Marco Jesus participated as organist, and all were under the baton of conductor Marla Monteiro. Info-Fajãs TV was present and provided extensive coverage.
