"TOCCATA" de Théodore Dubois (1837-1924) - por Messias Ullmann
Dubois nasceu em 24 de agosto de 1837 na cidade de Rosnay (França). Dubois estudou no conservatório de Paris com Ambroise Thomas e também conquistou o Prêmio de Roma. Foi maestro sucessor de César Franck na Basílica de Sainte Clotilde. Entre várias obras, a música de Dubois também inclui balés, oratórios e três sinfonias. Sua toccata para órgão litúrgico foi composta em 1889, sendo esta uma de suas obras mais famosas. Dubois faleceu em 11 de Junho de 1924.
