Is The Legend of Spyro: The Eternal Night Really That Bad?

The Legend of Spyro: The Eternal Night is the sequel to The Legend of Spyro: A New Beginning and is widely considered to be one of the worst Spyro games, but is that fair? Is it really in the same ballpark as something like Spyro: Enter the Dragonfly and Spyro: Shadow Legacy? In this retrospective review, I play through the game for the first time since its release to find out. It’s... definitely an experience. The Legend of Spyro: The Eternal Night was developed by Krome Studios, released in 2007, and tells the story of how Spyro and Sparx track down enemy-turned-friend Cynder after she runs away from home. It features voice acting from Elijah Wood, Gary Oldman, Billy West, Mae Whitman, Martin Jarvis… the list goes on.
