Play It or Purge It? Writhe - Switch

This was part of that last batch of games I bought digitally on Switch a couple years ago. I remember playing it once and wondering if I was missing something. I don't think I was missing anything. You go in, you shoot maggots. You die, you earn gems (to unlock ... lore?). There are three wonderfully claustrophobic maps, small enough to make surviving seem meaningful, and you start with the only two weapons available in the game. It's a nice, minimalist design. However, the Switch doesn't fit this kind of fast-paced, desperation shooting. I can't imagine playing this on stock joycons. For possibly the first time, I realized my 8bitdo Ultimate Bluetooth controller supported gyro -- probably because this is the first time I've ever NEEDED gyro this badly in a switch game while docked. This doesn't earn a place on my Switch long term, but I immediately looked up the game to see if I could get it on PC. Unfortunately, this seems to be exlusive. Fun game, bad fit for the platform. Ultimately, I'm happy I bought it. I hope the creators were successful enough to make something that can reach a wider audience. Play It or Purge It? Purge It
