Brewing An Oatmeal Stout, Discussing Steep-To-Convert, and BLOOPERS!
Get your Brewer's Best Oatmeal Stout kit here: http://www.biyhomebrewsupply.com/prod... Hey YouTube! In this video we're brewing up the Brewer's Best Oatmeal stout and discussing it's steep-to-convert step, which is essentially a mini mash. By holding convertible grains at 149F-152F, you are able to activate the enzymes in the malt to convert them to fermentable sugars, and that's just what we did here! It's an awesome "intermediate" kit, but with a little care and attention, it is no harder than any other extract beer kit out there. If you haven't given this style of brewing a try, please do it. It's not that much harder, and can yield really nice beer at the end of it. I also include several deleted scenes from the making of the video, so enjoy the bloopers! I must have been wired that day! Cheers!
