Alice In Chains - Would? // Drum cover (+ Transcription)

I don't think I've covered an Alice In Chains song in years, the last one probably being Man in the Box. I definitely gotta cover more of their songs, they always have super fun drum parts. This album especially has so many banger songs, and don't even get me started on the drum mixing. Now this song was a fun one to transcribe and learn, it's got some really unique grooves and fills (especially that intro tom groove, which was a tad challenging cuz of the cool hihat pedal ostinato). Unfortunately, the recording process of this cover was NOT fun. I pretty much nailed the song on the first take, but one of my GoPros overheated and froze up when I tried to stop recording. The only solution was to hard reset it, which meant it lost the entire video. Rather than try to make this video with only 4 camera angles, I tried to redo the entire thing, but for the next 30 minutes I got way too in my head and kept messing up; and even if I played it right, the camera would freeze up again. So what you see in this video is that first take that I did perfectly, and the camera angle behind me is from a completely separate take that I didn't even get to the end of (I screwed up those ending fills every dang time). I don't think I've ever been more mad while recording a video, but thankfully I'm happy with the end result. Moral of the story: I need new cameras, they keep letting me down lol.
