The 22nd Annual Seymour Martin Lipset Lecture on Democracy in the World was held on January 14, 2026, featuring Leopoldo Lopez, the cofounder of the World Liberty Congress. Inaugurated in 2004, the Lipset Lecture is a joint annual lecture sponsored by the National Endowment for Democracy, the Embassy of Canada to the United States, and the University of Toronto’s Department of Political Science and Munk School of Global Affairs.
