This is the first Geetham we teach beginners who have completed the basic Swara Lessons like Sarali Varisai (   • Sarali Varisai  : Verses 1-7 : Swara Shrut...   and    • Sarali Varisai Part 2 : Verses 8-14 : Swar...  ) Janta Varisai (   • Janta Varisaigal - All 9 verses - 3 speeds  ) Daatu Varisai (   • Daatu Varisai - All 3 speeds  ) Upper Sthayi Varisai (   • Upper Sthayi  ) Lower Sthayi Varisai (   • Lower Sthayi - vocal voice lessons  ) Sapta Taala Alankars (   • Sapta Taala Alankars  ) Geethams help students of Carnatic music progress to learning Sahitya (that is lyrics) along with the Geethams also introduce us to different talams .Swarams (which are the notes). It is recommended that you always learn the Swaram before moving on to the Sahityam. We have structure our video accordingly. Practicing the Geetham in all 3 speeds will give command over the raga and good voice control.
