This time, I'd like to introduce you to a place where a large-scale resort project was thwarted by the collapse of the bubble economy. It's Oshio-cho, Himeji City, Hyogo Prefecture. When I visited the site, I found a hopeless situation, with vacant lots and a massive amount of solar panels installed to fill them. Furthermore, upon further research, I discovered that it took half a century for the resort plan to be scrapped, suggesting a dark past.
