Dove abita la luce? – Spunti dalla Sacra Scrittura: Gianfranco Ravasi (Cortile dei Gentili, Catania)

On Friday, March 18th and Saturday, March 19th, 2016, the University of Catania organized a session of the "Courtyard of the Gentiles," an initiative of the Pontifical Council for Culture aimed at fostering encounters and dialogue between believers and non-believers. Gianfranco Ravasi was one of the participants in the dialogue on the topic "Where does the light dwell? (Job 38:19) – Insights from Sacred Scripture," along with Dionisio Candido (San Paolo Theological School in Catania) and Pierluigi Leone De Castris (Professor of Modern Art History at the Suor Orsola Benincasa University of Naples). The dialogue was introduced by Monsignor Salvatore Gristina and moderated by Giancarlo Magnano San Lio, Director of the Department of Humanities. An Italian cardinal, Catholic archbishop, and biblical scholar, theologian, and Hebraist, Monsignor Ravasi has served since 2007 as president of the Pontifical Council for Culture, the Pontifical Commission for Sacred Archaeology, and the Coordinating Council of Pontifical Academies. During his address, Monsignor Ravasi emphasized the "constant presence of light in the Judeo-Christian Sacred Scriptures" and how "light irradiates the Sacred Scriptures, whose ancient words contain within them a strength and power that has survived so many centuries until reaching us."
