Before practice, after practice, heck during practice, the long shot from one end of the rink is just plain fun to do. Of course, once the coach blows that whistle, no more shots should commence and players should be running to the huddle. That’s where a formal long shot competition comes into play; often we do this in a camp setting but it can also be done as a team at the end of a practice for some fun.
