The Old Vanderbilt Motor Parkway From Start to Finish: Part One

The original Vanderbilt Motor Parkway, built in the early 1900s and sold to the government in 1938, is followed from its western terminus in Queens to its eastern terminus in Lake Ronkonkoma. Interesting stories regarding the first paved road in the United States are told as every entry/exit/toll point is visited on the spot where it once existed. In addition, the one surviving toll house in Garden City is presented.
