Meanwhile, for a hundred years, it has been a first-tier authority, guarding our civil, economic, and political interests. People appeal to it in controversial situations and at times when we believe injustice is being committed; they trust it in the most difficult and pressing circumstances of life – as a bulwark of truth and the highest justice. We believe in it – and… we can't even begin to imagine how it works, how destinies are determined, what cases are and have been heard throughout history, what judges have had to endure throughout our country's history, and how the current system of national justice was formed. The documentary project "Century of the Court" invites you to spend a day within the walls of the country's most important legal authority—and see everything with your own eyes. But that's not all. What complaints will the Supreme Court hear, and which won't? Are there more acquittals or convictions? Can our justice system be called punitive? Why is Themis blindfolded? Popular host Vladimir Solovyov will address questions of interest to everyone. And the man who will answer them will be Vyacheslav Lebedev, the man who has headed the Supreme Court for over three decades. He has witnessed the country change before his eyes, worked with four presidents, refused Gorbachev's offer, wasn't afraid to oppose the State Emergency Committee, clashed with Yeltsin, and under him, the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation first received what it had dreamed of for many years… The candid account of the Chief Justice will complement the history of the country's highest judicial body.
