Does the neutral wire really melt? 🔥 The ultimate 230V vs. 400V stove test! What actually happens when you operate a three-phase appliance like an electric stove with only 230V instead of the intended 400V? Many immediately claim: "Careful, the neutral wire will be overloaded and there's a fire hazard!" 😱 In this video, I put it to the test. I simulate the stove connection using three identical immersion heaters as a linear load and measure the current on the neutral wire (N) in three different scenarios: ⚡ The test scenarios: Classic three-phase operation (400V): How does the current behave with a phase shift? Bridged phases: What happens if we cheat? Single-phase supply: The ultimate stress test for the wiring. The result is different than many expect… ⚠️ Important note: This experiment demonstrates the behavior with purely resistive/linear loads. In modern home installations, harmonics (non-linear loads) can influence the result.
