Episode 9 of the series with native speakers about the Dutch language and identity: 'foreigner talk'. For people who learn Dutch, it’s not always easy to start communicating with the Dutch. Often, the Dutch switch to English. But when the communication is in Dutch, there might be another problem: ‘foreigner talk’. This is the phenomenon that native speakers speak their own language incorrectly to non-native speakers. Is it offensive? Or is it helpful? What do you think about it?
