In the throne room of Kalxath Castle, Jessica succeeds in recovering Lambda's old memories, thus confirming that she is McClaine's long-lost sister, Mary/Mariandel. Aw, how sweet! She can smile again. Sigma, however, cannot recover his memories as his murder by Clarett has a lot to do with why Jessica's magic doesn't work. The party decides to enter Clarett's father's studies to learn more about the actual killer. Communicating with a nearby plant, Mary discovers that a shadowy individual was the one who murdered the emperor in cold blood. Suddenly, a frantic soldier appears to inform Clarett that the demons are attacking the country using the undead. Sigma and co investigate. In this battle, you learn that the emperor's murdererer is Grove from Langrisser III. To achieve the demons' dreams of destroying mankind, killing all of the Descendants of Light is paramount to the cause. Gilmore, incidentally, was also a pawn of Grove's machinations. You also have to rescue the villagers while you deal with Grove and his ghouls. Holy and bow troops work wonders here. Grove has the uncanny ability to resurrect any fallen comrades, which is handy if you want to grind a bit. You can also unlock Scenario ?3, but you'll need a flyer atop of the church statue to unlock it. After defeating Grove, the villagers donate a special item as thanks for saving them (providing you saved all of them). The heroes continue repelling the demon invasion. Meanwhile, Aizer and Omega make plans to retrive the swords from the demon lands.
