The hood and the collar add later. *The chains when you start on the back panel it will be the width of your sweater. If you want wider just make more chains. *You can make your sweater as long as you like just keep adding more rows Gauge unblocked : 16 sc x 8 row = 4" Size us women's small Measurements : 17" Width x 22" Length. (These are measured before blocking/washing) *keep in mind that your cardigan will stretch out a few inches after you block/wash it.
