Band of the Brigade of Gurkhas Houses of Parliament, London 17 January 2023

Sounding Retreat at the Houses of Parliament. On the evening of the 17th of January, The Band of the Brigade of Gurkhas and the Pipes and Drums from The First Battalion The Royal Gurkha Rifles performed a Sounding Retreat at the Gurkha Welfare Trust event at the House of Lords. Taking the salute was the Speaker of the House of Commons, Chief of General Staff (British Army) and the Rt Hon the Lord Lancaster of Kimbolton, TD PC. The Band and Pipes and Drums performed an impeccable display of music and military precision marching display, in front of the guests of the Gurkha Welfare Trust. The event was the idea of Lord Lancaster who is also a Brigadier and the Deputy Colonel Commandant Brigade of Gurkhas and was then organised by the Gurkha Welfare Trust. A number of personnel from across the Brigade of Gurkhas were also in attendance including our Colonel Commandant Lieutenant General Richard Wardlaw OBE who is also Chairman of the Gurkha Welfare Trust.
