Country Joe McDonald - Holy Roller (live TV 1974)
Best known for the Fish Cheer and his brilliant anti-Vietnam song (as memorably performed at Woodstock), firebrand Country Joe McDonald proved a great singer/songwriter the equal of his contemporaries. Never one to follow trends, Country Joe decided to perform this unusual song (with bassist Peter Alwyn) when visiting the UK in 1974, a far cry indeed from his riotous days fronting the manic San Fransisco band Country Joe and the Fish.
