TRIBUN-VIDEO.COM - Residents of Jalan Telkomas, Berua Village, Biringkanaya District, Makassar City, were shocked by the discovery of the body of a man from East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) with the initials AU (45) in a boarding house on stilts on Monday afternoon (July 6, 2026). The victim was found covered in blood and lying on a mattress wearing an orange collared shirt. His face had open wounds suspected to have been caused by a sharp object. During the crime scene investigation (TKP), the Makassar Police Inafis team, along with the South Sulawesi Regional Police's Police Department, found a hoe not far from the victim's body. The object was immediately secured for forensic examination. Setiawan stated that the open wounds on the victim's face indicated a suspected homicide. However, the exact cause of death is still pending the results of an autopsy by the police. The local neighborhood association (RT) head, Juni Wandai (38), said the victim had only lived in the boarding house for about three months with a friend who also came from NTT. AU was known to work as a driver and had never been involved in any disputes with local residents. Following the discovery, the victim's body was evacuated to Bhayangkara Hospital in Makassar for further examination. The scene is now cordoned off by police, and the case is being handled by the Biringkanaya Police and the Makassar Police's Jatanras Team.
