We hope you enjoy the video at your own pace! ■Atsuya Furuta (born August 6, 1965) A former professional baseball player (catcher, right-handed batter/thrower), manager, baseball commentator, sportscaster, and TV personality from Kawanishi City, Hyogo Prefecture. He is also the chairman of the Nippon Professional Baseball Hall of Fame. He played his entire career with the Tokyo Yakult Swallows, defining an era as a legendary catcher. He is a player who has achieved a batting average of .300 eight times, tying him for 14th place in history. His season and career stolen base prevention percentages of .644 and .462 are Japanese records. He also holds the Japanese record for career batting average as a catcher. He won a silver medal in baseball at the Seoul Olympics. ・YouTube    / @furuta-houteishiki   ■Kazuhiro Sasaki (born February 22, 1968) Former professional baseball player (pitcher) from Sendai, Miyagi Prefecture. He currently serves as vice chairman of the Nippon Professional Baseball Hall of Fame, a baseball commentator and analyst, a TV personality, and general manager of the racing team "D'station Racing." He bats and throws right-handed. He served as a relief pitcher in both the NPB and MLB. He recorded 129 MLB saves, the most by a Japanese player, and 252 saves in his NPB career, third-highest all-time, making him the first Japanese player to reach 300 saves. He recorded a total of 381 saves in both NPB and MLB (making him the first Japanese player to reach 300 saves), establishing himself as a defining relief pitcher. He is also the second Asian player (and the second Japanese player) to win the MLB Rookie of the Year award. Nicknamed "The Great Demon," he was also known as "The Great Demon of Hama" while playing for the Baystars. He is the first player to be inducted into the Nippon Professional Baseball Hall of Fame based on saves. He has won the NPB Most Valuable Relief Pitcher award (currently the most saves pitcher) five times, tying the NPB record. ■ Yukio Tanaka (born December 14, 1967) A former professional baseball player (infielder/outfielder, right-handed batter/thrower), minor league manager/coach, and baseball commentator from Miyakonojo City, Miyazaki Prefecture. From 2015, he served as the Hokkaido Nippon-Ham Fighters' second-division manager for three years. Seiichi Uchikawa (born August 4, 1982[1]) A former professional baseball player (outfielder/infielder) from Oita City, Oita Prefecture. He bats and throws right-handed. He holds the highest batting average in NPB history for a right-handed batter (.378 in 2008), is the second player in history to lead both leagues in batting averages and have the most hits. He is tied for fourth place in history (tied with Hiromitsu Ochiai for first place among right-handed batters) for seven consecutive years with a batting average of .300, and has eight career batting averages of .300 (tied for 14th place in history). He is one of Japan's leading average hitters. In the Climax Series (CS), he ranks first in hits and home runs, second in RBIs,[Note 1] and has been awarded the MVP a record three times. He also won the Japan Series MVP and Outstanding Player award once, earning him the nicknames "The Demon of Short-Term Showdowns" and "Mr. Short-Term Showdowns." ■Motonobu Tanishige (born December 21, 1970) A native of Kawanishi, Tojo Town, Hiba District, Hiroshima Prefecture (now Shobara City), he is a former professional baseball player (catcher, right-handed batter/thrower), manager, baseball commentator, and member of the Japan Professional Baseball Hall of Fame. He holds the Guinness World Record for 27 consecutive years of home runs and games played as a catcher.
