Metropolis - Istanbul (Part Two)

Even more Turkish Delight! (Couldn't be contained in one volume!) Explore Pt. Two of my foto-show of bustling, brimming Istanbul. East meets West; Europe meets Asia; Ancient meets Modern - Istanbul stands at the cultural crux of so many things. And while Turkey is currently headed by strongman Erdogan, its capital seems to function well as a modern Metropolis, a dense mix of 16-million locals and hordes of tourists. Featuring a great network of public transport, a beguiling array of food & hospitality options, and a warm & welcoming populace, Istanbul delights & intrigues even the most jaded Europhile! Part Two highlights: A lovely walkabout through the neighborhoods of Beyoglu & Karakoy to Taksim Square, along the famed tram-route of Istiklal Cadesi. An all-day ferry excursion of the Bosporus takes us from the Sea of Marmara to the Black Sea, with a jaunt up to Yorus Castle. Plus, more exquisite Mosques, scintillating Bazaars, and the indelible underground Basilica Cistern. This - as my images hopefully capture & convey ---is why we travel!
