Design & Platform The 2026 EV2 is a small B-segment electric SUV built on Kia’s E-GMP 400 V electric architecture, developed with European drivers in mind. Its compact footprint (around 4.06 m long) makes it ideal for urban environments, while tall proportions and a squared-off profile give it SUV character. Powertrain & Range Options Kia offers the EV2 with two battery choices: • 42.2 kWh battery – standard range with up to ~317 km WLTP on a full charge. • 61 kWh battery – long range with up to ~448 km WLTP. Both variants are powered by a front-mounted electric motor driving the front wheels, making the EV2 efficient and practical for city commuting and daily use. Charging & Capability • DC Fast Charging: 10 – 80 % in around 30 minutes, depending on charger and battery. • AC Charging: unique for the segment with both 11 kW and 22 kW onboard charger options ideal for home or public slow charging. • Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) and Vehicle-to-Grid (V2G): flexible charging features for powering devices or feeding energy back to the grid — rare in the B segment. Interior & Features Inside the EV2, expect a modern and practical cabin with multiple displays, including dual digital screens for driver info and a central infotainment display, plus an optional frunk for extra storage and good cargo flexibility. Safety and convenience tech include advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS) such as adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking, and remote smart parking. European Launch & Market Position The EV2 is tailored for Europe — designed, built and soon to be produced at Kia’s Slovak plant in Žilina with deliveries starting in early 2026. It sits below the EV3 in Kia’s BEV lineup, aiming to make electric driving practical and affordable for urban customers. Why the 2026 Kia EV2 Matters The 2026 Kia EV2 represents a key step in mainstream EV adoption in Europe, combining compact dimensions, competitive WLTP range, rapid charging, advanced features and strong everyday practicality — all at a price point expected to compete with other small EVs like the Renault 4 and Citroën ë-C3.
