The examination of evidence in the alleged corruption case involving former Deputy Attorney General for Special Crimes (Jampidsus), Febrie Adriansyah, involved international law enforcement officials. As reported by Tribunnews, representatives from the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and the United States Secret Service were present at the Jakarta Metro Police's Special Criminal Investigation Directorate (Ditreskrimsus) building on Tuesday (July 14, 2026). Their presence lasted approximately one hour. The focus of the examination was foreign currency previously confiscated by investigators as evidence. After the examination, the group left the location without issuing an official statement. Shortly afterward, several Ditreskrimsus investigators were seen carrying suitcases out of the headquarters. The Head of Public Relations of the Jakarta Metro Police, Senior Commissioner Budi Hermanto, explained that the examination of the foreign currency was part of the evidence verification process before the case was handed over to the Attorney General's Office. In addition to the foreign currency, investigators were also awaiting laboratory test results on 74 gold bullion pieces. The examination was conducted by PT Pegadaian (Persero) and witnessed by Attorney General's Office investigators. The test results are expected to be out in the next one to two days. Budi emphasized that the investigation is still ongoing so that the details of the case cannot yet be revealed to the public. In developing the case, the Indonesian National Police's Corruption Eradication Corps (Kortas Tipidkor) has named two suspects, namely DR and FA. The Head of the Indonesian National Police's Corruption Eradication Corps, Inspector General Pol Totok Suharyanto, said that the transfer of the case to the Attorney General's Office is a form of synergy between institutions. DR is charged with Article 4 and/or Article 5 in conjunction with Article 10 of Law Number 8 of 2010 concerning the Prevention and Eradication of Money Laundering Crimes or Article 607 paragraph (1) letter b and letter c of the Criminal Code. DR has been detained since July 10, 2026 at the Polda Metro Jaya Detention Center. Meanwhile, FA is suspected of being involved in corruption and money laundering related to the PT Asabri case and other cases. For his actions, FA is suspected of violating the provisions of the Corruption Eradication Law and the Money Laundering Law. Mahfud MD believes that Attorney General ST Burhanuddin's decision to resign or remain in office depends entirely on his moral conscience. According to Tribunnews, he believes the issue is not solely a legal one, but also concerns ethics and responsibility as a public official. This view was expressed amid growing calls for ST Burhanuddin to resign following the alleged corruption and money laundering (TPPU) case involving former Special Crimes Director Febrie Adriansyah. Mahfud explained that the ethical principles of state officials are stipulated in MPR Decree Numbers VI and VIII of 2001. National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo responded briefly to Mahfud MD's criticism regarding the handling of the case of former Special Crimes Director Febrie Adriansyah.
