The lock trip starts in Bad Schandau and takes us to Ústí nad Labem to the lock below the Schreckenstein. Here we'll be locked up. We'll continue upstream on the dammed Elbe for a bit, then turn around in a small marina and return to Bad Schandau. An eight-hour journey on the Elbe River lies ahead of us. How do you get to the Elbe steamers? Answer: The Saxon Steamship Company fleet can be found on the Terrassenufer in Dresden. Reachable by Dresden public transport, car, or bicycle.
