VIDEO 20th Anniversary of Los Hoes Primary School Festive activities at Los Hoes Primary School on its anniversary. During the visit by RTV Sternet, the children were busy decorating their school. Garlands were cut, pasted, and decorated, and large balloon pillars stand at the entrance. For a whole week, there are all kinds of festive activities, such as a sponsored run, a scavenger hunt, games, the school trip, and a pajama day to conclude the celebrations. Principal Ellen van Bindsbergen wishes everyone to stay healthy, to continue pursuing their ambitions driven by the passion that is currently present, and to remain focused on good education and, of course, a pleasant and cheerful environment for the children. The children we spoke to feel comfortable at their school and are enjoying the festivities. The Origin of the School In the 2000s, the municipality decided, in consultation with the school boards of Skota (Catholic education) and BBGH (Public education), to build a primary school in the Hassinkbrink 1 district. The necessity was demonstrated by the strong growth in the number of pupils and the pressure on surrounding schools. Both boards took the initiative to establish a new school with a unique educational concept that Haaksbergen did not yet know at that time. After a year of preparation, primary school Los Hoes started in August 2006 with 33 pupils in a temporary facility on Hondsdraf. Due to further growth, a second location was established on Jeneverbes in 2009, which was expanded in 2010. In January 2011, all classes moved to the permanent location on Hassinkborgh. Name: Los Hoes The Los Hoes was formerly a building style in which functional and living spaces were integrated, without a separation between living quarters and stables. Humans and animals lived in one large space. That principle fits very well with the school's vision: just like in the traditional Los Hoes, the school strives to create a home-like atmosphere, not only by using school furniture but also by adding warm and personal elements. Children spend a lot of time at school, and it is important that they feel just as comfortable here as they do at home. This sense of security, comparable to the open and shared living space in a traditional Los Hoes, forms an essential part of the school's vision and contributes to the development of a safe and familiar learning environment.
