Back to My Best MEDIEVAL FIELD...Is There Anything Left?

I returned to one of my most successful medieval detecting locations in Scotland, a small field beside an ancient church where previous searches uncovered incredible discoveries, including medieval silver and even gold. Armed with the Minelab Manticore, I couldn't help but wonder... was there anything left to find? With very few targets, deep and uncertain signals, and long periods of silence, this quickly became one of my toughest metal detecting sessions yet. Just when I thought the day was slipping away, two unexpected discoveries completely changed the story. An unusual historical curling club button and a beautiful spindle whorl proved that even the quietest medieval fields can still reveal fascinating pieces of Scotland's past.
