Some three decades ago, Bhutan Created one of the biggest Refugees Crisis in the World when it exiled almost 1/6th of its population as illegal immigrant. Almost all of them were “The Lhotshampas”, the Southern Bhutanese, who were from Nepali Ethnicity. They had been living there for generations with peace and then they were all exiled almost overnight. In this second part, we will look at what exactly happened inside camps, why negotiations between Nepal and Bhutan never prorgressed and what lead to the resettlement in third country.
