#fun #holiday #kids This extraordinary holiday week passed by so quickly. For one week, children from Kherson, Zaporizhzhia and Dnipro were able to escape the daily reality of air-raid sirens, drones and missiles. Every day was filled with fun activities. The children swam, played, danced and enjoyed spending time together. The children’s disco became a huge party almost every evening. Thanks to the fantastic team of Anastacia and Bogdan, everyone joined in. Nobody was left standing on the sidelines, and by the end of the evening, everyone was exhausted. One of the highlights was the big show night. In groups, the children had prepared dances, songs and even acrobatic performances. They had practised seriously, and their enthusiasm was incredible. We enjoyed it at least as much as the children did. Every child also received an official certificate and a special souvenir T-shirt from us. During the presentation, it became clear just how much this week had meant to them. Many tears were wiped away. During the holiday, the children also made personal drawings for the donors who made their stay possible. These drawings will be sent out next week as a special keepsake. Just before leaving, the children were allowed to choose as many bags of sweets as they could carry. Not only for themselves, but especially to share at home with their brothers, sisters and parents. On the final day, we travelled to Ivano-Frankivsk. The children went to the cinema and, as a surprise, visited McDonalds. For many of them, this was particularly special because the restaurants in their hometowns have been closed for a long time. Then came the farewell at the railway station. It was incredibly difficult. For an entire week, we had watched these children laugh, play and enjoy themselves without worries. Now they had to return to a life in which war is once again part of their daily reality. That is exactly why these holidays are so incredibly important.
