A celebration of the life and work of Dr. Ivor Browne

Join Inwardbound co-founder Rob Ó Cobhthaigh, and Martin Duffy, director of the Irish Centre for Shamanic and Transpersonal Studies, to discuss the pioneering and visionary work of irish psychiatrist Dr Ivor Browne, pioneer of psychedelic-assisted therapy and trauma therapy. Decades before later pioneers on somatic trauma therapy like Dr Gabor Mate, Dr Peter Levine and Dr Bessel Van Der Kolk, Browne was speaking of trauma as the 'frozen present', using altered states of consciousness to help people process trauma frozen in their bodies, and using group psychotherapy, psychedelic- assisted therapy, breathwork, bodywork and music as a means to do this. Rob Ó Cobhthaigh is an accredited psychotherapist (MIACP) and transpersonal therapist and co-founder of Inwardbound psilocybin retreats in the Netherlands. He is also a qualified Shamanic Counsellor at the Irish Centre for Shamanic and Transpersonal Studies, has been a student of celtic shamanism for fifteen years, and has finished an 8 year training as a Transpersonal Therapist in the tradition of Dr. Stan Grof. He is also completing the Graduate training in Psychedelic Assisted Therapy with the California Institute of Integral Studies (CIIS) and Multidisciplinary Association for Psychedelic Studies (MAPS) MDMA assisted psychotherapy education. He also has trainings in jungian psychotherapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Internal Family Systems (IFS) for psychedelic-assisted therapy, and in holotropic breathwork with the Grof Transpersonal Training (GTT) in Mexico. https://inwardbound.nl/ Martin Duffy is one of the leading voices on shamanism in the world today. He is an accredited Jungian, Transpersonal and Humanistic Psychotherapist. He has trained with Indigenous Shamans in the Amazon, Andes, South Africa, Mexico and Mongolia. He has also trained with Stanislav Grof as a Holotropic Breathwork facilitator and Transpersonal Therapist. Martin also spent 35 years working in the Irish psychiatric services, including some pioneering collaborations with legendary Irish psychiatrist and psychedelic pioneer Dr Ivor Browne, who was a contemporary and colleague of Dr Stan Grof. Martin’s work is heavily influenced by the Druidic traditions of ancient Ireland. He comes from a lineage of traditional Folk Healers following in the footsteps of his mother and grandfather.
