City-S-Bahn Berlin/S15 | (Teil-)Eröffnung 1. Bauabschnitt

With footage from June 16, 2025, the first construction phase of the S-Bahn line, Gesundbrunnen - Wedding - Hauptbahnhof (Central Station), is now open! The S15 line is operating on this section every 10 minutes, using half-trains. Since only a temporary platform is currently in operation at the main station, the other section, Hauptbahnhof - Westhafen, is not yet open. The City S-Bahn project in Berlin refers to the construction of a second north-south S-Bahn line through Berlin's city center to improve connections to the main station and relieve congestion at the Friedrichstraße interchange. The first construction phase will connect the main station to the northern ring line (Westhafen and Wedding) via two connecting curves.
