This is part 4 of the “boyfriend thinks you're cheating” series. After finding out that you never cheated, he's desperate to get back with you… But you refused! Now you're stuck sharing a tent together on a camping trip. Things get SAWCY after he learns about you pairing up with another guy on a hike! Though, you end up getting the short end of that stick because you get injured on the hike, and the guy leaves you behind promising to come back for you with the group… All alone and desperate, you hear some leaves crunch and an all too familiar voice calls out your name. After a long wait, I'm back with one of the most anticipated stories yet! :) I know that people have been desperate for a part 4. Just read the comments of part 3! It's rare people ask for another part so late into a series, so I was really surprised at the number of requests I was getting. I wanted to make it special, and was hoping to give a voice to the other dude's character that the listener goes on a hike with. But I wasn't able to (rather didn't try hard enough - lazy me :P) so I decided to take things in a different direction with him trying to win her over. But... the listener. Oh my sweet child. She doesn't know if she wants him. And I think I still might be able to find a few comments here and there that demand a part 5! Ha. Won't that be fun :) As you can tell, I'm enjoying egging you guys on a bit. People. So today, I went to the gym for a quick 15 minute cardio sesh. Do you remember how I once told you guys I can be competitive? There was a lady on the treadmill adjacent to mine, and I noticed that she kept looking at how many calories I burnt. Weird. About 15 minutes in, the treadmills were empty except for us. I told myself, "uno what? I'll finish my cardio when she stops." I tend to do that. To give myself motivation to burn some extra calories. Silly me. Because 5 minutes passed, then 10, and then 15... But this woman wasn't getting off the treadmill. At this stage, 30 minutes had passed and we were both vigorously side-eyeing the other to see who'd get off first. My small cardio session had turned into a battle of honour and dignity, and this lady just wasn't ready to quit. But neither was I. I steeped my incline even further, and gave her a "beat that" look to show her how little I think of her competition. What a horrible idea that was. She also steeped her incline and suddenly we were at the max incline and really struggling - yet neither of us was ready to give up. Painstakingly, a further 10 minutes passed and I had reached physical exhaustion. I looked at her, almost pleading her to let me win, but she had a smug smile and kept going. So I did too. For the children. For the women. For the lost and downtrodden. I was going to dedicate my victory to all those going through hardships in life. One step at a time. One calorie at a- I tripped. (sigh) FFFFFFFFFFFFFFUUUUCKKKKKK. (deeep breath). FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKK. (sad crying noises) I took a wrong step and fell. I was so upset, because I felt that victory was nigh. She was really tired and barely hanging on. I was gonna incline walk all over her ass. But it was not to be. The shame and embarrassment was too heavy to bear and I could not go further. As soon as I got off the treadmill, she also stopped. But as she was about to go do another exercise, she gave me a nod. And then I realised something. The entire time that I was desperate to win, she saw me as a reason to keep going. Not as a competitor, but as a friend. And in that moment, I put my ego aside and though fair play. She won. And I'm not angry. (except I'm a sour loser and I'm still upset and want a rematch). Good night wamen.
