Practice Tips, FLW, Sōseki, Port Colborne & More // Bach Sinfonia No. 1 in C-major BWV 787
Here is J. S. Bach's Sinfonia No. 1 in C-major, BWV 787 (ca. 1720-23). Following the performance, I talk about some of the things I find interesting about the music, as well as how I practice. I also discuss some of the books that have influenced my playing. Did you know that the architect, Frank Lloyd Wright loved and was greatly influenced by Bach's music? Those horizontal lines, geometric shapes and patterns in his buildings, folks...just like in a fugue! 🥰 The video concludes with a visit to Port Colborne for some sight-seeing and a few more ideas on playing Bach's music. I hope you enjoy coming along with me for the ride. I do love a grey day and we had one here, plus a whole lot of ships at the Welland Canal!🚢 Sinfonia No. 1 in C-major: 0:00 Practice Tips & Literary References: 0:47 Trip to Port Colborne & Welland Canal: 48:20 For more info on Frank Lloyd Wright, please visit: https://franklloydwright.org Books referenced in the video: Erwin Bodky - The Interpretation of Bach's Keyboard Works: https://archive.org/details/interpret...
