Insider Review - The Gritti Palace Venice (the RARE Serenissima Suite and FANTASTIC Breakfast)

One of our favorite hotel stays in Italy was at The Gritti Palace, The Luxury Collection due to its great location in Venice, but also for it's fantastic room experience and outstanding breakfast. Bernard and I really wanted to have a nice Anniversary of our 5 year relationship so we wanted to do something extra special. Generally the the rooms in the Gritti Palace are super expensive, but we used our BONVOY points to book and since there was a sale, it was a GREAT DEAL! We only spent 60,000 Bonvoy points to book a basic room. When we arrived we were informed of our upgrade because of our Titanium Status, but were not told exactly which room. We were super surprised to be upgraded to one of their signature suites which costs 2,000 USD per night! In addition to such a great room, we got a bottle of champagne, fruits and flowers for our anniversary. Breakfast was included with our status, and it was quite memorable with the amazing views of the gondolas in the water.
