What happened to Suikoden? [Will there be a Suikoden Remake?]

Suikoden is one of the greatest JRPGs of all time! The Suikoden series hit the PlayStation thanks to Konami. There were 5 main Suikoden games, with several Suikoden Spin-offs along the way. With Konami not making any new games, it looks like the Suikoden franchise is dead. Many are hoping for a Suikoden remake or Suikoden reboot. Suikoden 2 was one of my favourite ever games, an RPG with an amazing story and followed up by Suikoden 3 that never made it to the PAL region. the third game was also the last of original creator Yoshitaka Maruyama, with him not touching Suikoden IV. The last instalment hit our shelves in 2005 without any sign of a sequel to Suikoden V. Will there ever be a Suikoden 6? Will there be a remake? What happened to the Suikoden series?
