Quanzhou (泉州) is a city with a rich history and vibrant culture located in the southeastern coast of Fujian Province (福建省) in China. Known as the starting point of the Maritime Silk Road (海上丝绸之路), Quanzhou played a significant role in the trade and cultural exchanges between China and the world during ancient times. The city boasts numerous historical sites, temples, and museums that reflect its glorious past. One of the most notable landmarks in Quanzhou is the Kaiyuan Temple (开元寺), which is one of the largest and oldest Buddhist temples in China. Founded in 686 AD during the Tang Dynasty (唐朝), the temple complex houses many ancient structures, including the famous East and West Pagodas (东西塔).
