The story is set in the 1930s about a little girl without any parents and being raised in the backwoods by an elderly woman. Filming began the week of July 22nd and employed about 75 locals. The made for TV film was released a year later on June 18th, 1975 under the title "A Girl Named Sooner". The following are memories given 50 years later in 2025 by Susan Deer who played "Sooner", Michael Gross who played Jim Seevey and local Vevay residents who were "extras" in the film.
