Timing a Listeroid camshaft

Timing your Listeroid the easy way. This method works for any slow to moderate speed engine gas or diesel when you do not have or do not trust timing marks. Put the crankshaft at TDC, "Split" the lobes of the cam shaft at overlap, install the drive at the closest meshing teeth., Important to remember that you cannot be off just a little bit. It is either right, or off by quite a bit because of the number of teeth on the gears, I have timed a lot of engines over the years for people who took them apart and didnt mark the gears or in some cases there were multiple marks or even marks that were wrong. In certain cases the exact overlap split may be slightly either side of center. If your engine ends up one side or the other instead of TDC you always want the split to be before Top Dead Center, never after.
