In this video, we'll explore the striking contrasts of the Daugavpils Fortress! We'll cycle there along a less touristy route: from Lake Šunu, leaving behind the New and Old Forstadt. Entering through the Alexander Gate, we'll explore the atmospheric abandoned buildings that still hold the spirit of history and compare them with the new reality. Our main destination is the completely reconstructed Commandant's Park near the former Far Eastern Aviation School Headquarters. I'll show you how this place was restored and how, years later, the historic fountain has returned to life.
