Ireland's Extrication & Trauma teams take on the World Rescue Challenge 2024

Dublin Fire Brigade Extrication & Trauma team travelled to the Azores, Portugal to represent Ireland in the World Rescue Challenge 2024. In April 2024, DFB won the national championships, held in Mullingar Fire Station, which enabled us to travel to represent Ireland on the World Stage. The competition is part of an extrication & trauma challenge, which puts firefighters and medical personnel into rescue scenarios to try and extricate casualties, all whilst maintaining safety standards and using safe practices while doing so. Other teams that represented Ireland at the competition were Kildare Civil Defence, Dublin Civil Defence and Wicklow Fire Service, with Kildare Civil Defence taking 3rd overall in one of the Trauma challenges.
