What happens when you realize in your mid-30s that there's a side to you you've never explored? But you're also married, have children, and a life that, from the outside, looks complete through heteronormative lenses? In our new episode, we welcome Lisa Opel. She's an author, TEDx speaker, podcaster, and mother. After completely losing her libido following the birth of her children, she started writing realistic erotic short stories—as self-therapy and a way back to herself. Along the way, she not only rediscovered her desire but also a part of herself that had always been there: Lisa is bisexual. Her coming out came late, in the middle of her marriage, in the middle of family life. And it completed everything. In this episode, Neele talks with Lisa about what it feels like to experience a lack of desire while everyone says, "It'll come back." But it doesn't. About how to tell your husband that you're also attracted to women. About the fear that coming out could shatter your life. And about why motherhood and sexuality are still treated as contradictory in our society, even though they aren't. This is part one of two episodes with Lisa.
