Pipers Over The Top [WW1]

Pipers Over The Top is a Cinematic WWI Inspired song by the Scottish & Commonwealth Pipers of the Great War Through the mud, gas, and machine-gun fire of World War I, Scottish and Commonwealth battalions often marched into battle behind the sound of Highland bagpipes. These pipers led soldiers “over the top” of the trenches, playing under artillery bombardment to inspire courage, maintain morale, and carry a final piece of home across the battlefield. Despite being highly visible targets, many pipers continued to play while advancing directly into enemy fire. Historians estimate that nearly 1,000 military pipers were killed during the First World War.
