The occasion is the great tattoo to say goodbye to General Jörg Vollmer on the parade ground of the Bendler Block in Berlin. Jörg Vollmer was Chief of Staff of the Army from July 2016 to February 2020. He was then deployed as Commander Joint Force Command in Brunssum. General Vollmer is retiring after 44 years of service. The formation of the Great Tattoo is led by the commander of the guard battalion, Lieutenant Colonel Hans Domrich. The staff music corps of the Bundeswehr plays under the direction of Captain Holger Kolodziej.
