SEAT Arona 2026: ¿por qué sigue siendo el rey de los B-SUV? | Prueba | Review coches.com
Despite persistent rumors suggesting the brand's demise, SEAT has proven it's here to stay, securing its position as the fifth best-selling brand in Spain in 2025. To celebrate, we got behind the wheel of the brand's bestseller: the latest update to the SEAT Arona. This B-SUV, which has already racked up over 750,000 units sold since its launch in 2017, debuts a facelift aimed at defending its enviable position in one of the market's toughest segments. Aesthetically, the new Arona gains a more mature and robust look, highlighted by its larger hexagonal grille, new standard Full LED headlights, and an aggressive dark aluminum rear diffuser. Inside, the leap in perceived quality is undeniable thanks to the introduction of soft-touch plastics, a perforated leather steering wheel, and new upholstered seats. Technology also takes a leap forward with a digital instrument cluster of up to 10.25 inches and a 9.2-inch central touchscreen with full wireless connectivity, all without making the mistake of eliminating the practical analog climate controls. In terms of mechanics, we tested the jewel in the crown: the 1.5 TSI four-cylinder engine that delivers 150 hp and 250 Nm of torque, paired exclusively with the lightning-fast DSG automatic transmission. It's an exceptionally refined and linear combination, capable of effortlessly propelling the low weight of this city car. In addition to exhibiting exemplary dynamic balance thanks to its chassis, this version achieves real-world fuel consumption figures of around 6.5 liters per 100 kilometers, demonstrating that a good gasoline engine with a C emissions rating remains a safe and incredibly logical choice. In short, this SEAT Arona proves that, sometimes, less is more. It's not the most electrified or cutting-edge model, but it's a car that's hard to fault and offers unbeatable value for money. With a starting price of €19,460 for the base version and just under €25,500 for this top-of-the-range FR trim, it's a nightmare for its rivals.
