Why No Tool Will Ever Measure Below the Planck Length

#PlanckLength #QuantumGravity #Physics This video takes one idea, the Planck length, and builds it up slowly from the simplest act of measuring all the way down to the edge of the knowable. We walk the history of finer and finer rulers, from notched sticks to microscopes to particle accelerators, and find the single rule beneath them all, that to see something smaller you must use more energy. Then we follow that rule until it collides with gravity, and watch a black hole rise up to seal the bottom of the world. Along the way we meet the people and ideas behind it, Abbe and de Broglie, Heisenberg and Einstein, Schwarzschild and Planck, Wheeler and Bekenstein and Hawking, and ask the honest question of whether the Planck length is truly the smallest length that exists, or only the smallest we could ever measure.
