Psychopsis Orchid Care - Repotting psychopsis orchid in semi hydro + Care tips
In this video we are going to talk about psychopsis orchid care. We are going to touch base on repotting psychopsis orchid in semi hydro, and I am going to give you a few care tips for growing psycopsis orchids. I had recently recieved this psychopsis mariposa green valley, and she needed urgent repotting, as she has a very bad root system, many rotting roots and a very decomposed medium. Approx. 60 F at night to 90 F during the day. These plants must be given good air movement. Light: 1800 to 3000 foot-candles. Under brighter light conditions, flowers will be smaller, less intensely colored and tend to be more reflexed. Conversely, under shadier conditions few, flatter, more intensely colored flowers are produced. Water-Humidity:They prefer moist conditions but should be allowed to nearly dry out between waterings. High humidity, as much as 85% RH is appreciated, but not needed to thrive. Fertilizer: In semi hydro must be fertilized with 350 ppm at each watering. Balanced fertilizer, half strength once per week but flush the medium often. Potting: Semi hydro I belive is the best method of culture for these orchids. Sphagnum moss can be used in clay pots or slabs.
