Riding the Rails! Business Class from London to Montreal aboard Via Rail

I took Via Rail from London, Ontario to Montreal, Quebec. I did this trip in May 2026. It took about 10 hours, which included a two-hour layover in Toronto. I booked my ticket 4 months in advance, and it cost $296.24 CAD including tax. At the time of booking, business class was about $80 more than a regular ticket, and includes all meals and drinks while onboard, plus access to the lounges in the train stations. I preselected my meals, and they were delicious. If you plan on taking the train, book early for better prices. If you can swing it, business class is well worth it. I preselected my seats for a small fee ($8) at the time of booking. I loved having a forward-facing single seat. It was spacious and very comfortable. While onboard I lamented that from Montreal I would be flying home in a cramped airplane. Taking the train feels very human. Taking a plane feels like you're cargo. Via Rail is notorious for being late because they share the rails with other train services who get preferred service. While my trains were (mostly) on schedule, if you take the train be prepared for delays. Total travel time was about 10 hours from the London station to Gare Central in Montreal. The same trip on an airplane would be about 3 hours including early arrival at the airport to check bags and get through security. The prices when I booked were about the same for the train compared to a plane. I loved taking the train and would highly recommend it if you have the time and money. Good vibes all around. 0:00-0:37 Intro 0:37-1:50 London station 1:50-2:30 Boarding Train 72 2:30-3:17 Seat amenities 3:17-3:52 Lunch 3:52-5:13 Arriving at Toronto 5:13-5:50 Bag storage 5:50-6:43 Union Station Lounge 6:43-7:18 Boarding Train 66 7:18-8:04 Supper 8:04-8:21 Toilet 8:21-8:42 Montreal bound 8:42-9:38 Thanks for watching!
