This is not just a true documentary crossing all of Japan, but also a meticulously planned, fully immersive railway tour! In this unscripted journey, we set off from the southernmost JR station in Japan (Nishi-Oyama Station, Kagoshima) and travel all the way north, passing through Osaka, Kyoto, Tokyo, Aomori, Sapporo, and Asahikawa, finally arriving at the northernmost JR station in Hokkaido—Wakkanai. The total distance is 3045 kilometers. Along the way, we transferred to multiple iconic Japanese trains of epoch-making significance: from the retro Japan National Railways local trains filled with Showa-era vibes, to the highly sought-after southern sightseeing train "Ibusuki no Tamatebako", the lightning-fast Shinkansens, and the snow country trains shuttling along the Soya Main Line in Hokkaido. We recorded the stunningly contrasting landscapes along the route and authentically presented the unexpected situations during the trip. Of course, as an important symbol of railway culture, we also took on the challenge of tasting the most localized "Ekiben" (train bento) along the way.
