CBS Network - Newhart - "Mrs. Newton's Body Lies A-Mould'ring in the Grave" (11/1/1982) 📺

Here's the complete broadcast of a first-run airing of the second episode of the Newhart series, "Mrs. Newton's Body Lies A-Mould'ring in the Grave" (S01E02), as shown over WBBM Channel 2. This installment of the second successful series starring Bob Newhart, in the first of an eight-year run, has Dick (Newhart) and Joanna (Mary Frann) horrified to find a 300-year-old grave in their basement belonging to a woman who was hanged as a witch. Guest starring Bill Quinn (who was Mr. Newhart's father-in-law), William Sanderson and Dan Frischman, and featuring Tony Papenfuss and John Voldstad. It is also notable for being the very first episode to feature Larry, Darryl and Darryl. (TECHNICAL NOTE: All episodes in this first season were videotaped. From the second season onwards, it would be shot on film, as his prior series The Bob Newhart Show was. Something about a Bob Newhart show that just "pops" more on film, as opposed to videotape) :-) Includes: Station ID / THE 10 O'Clock News promo (with Don Craig) Series opening titles Commercials for: Ford LTD Corning Ware cookware - by Corning (with the girl from "Three's a Crowd", I believe) Act I Commercials for: Post Grape-Nuts cereal - can also be used as oatmeal Kodak Kodamatic 9L Instant Camera (with David Copperfield) Promo for Cagney & Lacey (voiceover by Brad Crandall?) Act II Bumper (voiceover by Bob Newhart) Commercials for: National Car Rental - "Free Gifts" New Cafe Amaretto from General Foods International Coffees - with the "Celebrate the Moments of your Life" jingle Epilogue Promo for "The Blue and the Gray" (voiceover by Lance LeGault) Ending credits (with voiceover promo for the CBS Evening News by Dan Rather, and for Cagney & Lacey by Lee Jordan), followed by MTM bumper with Mimsie the cat (and cat's voice by Newhart himself) Bonus: brief snippet of the beginning of the next recording, showing the tail end of a promo for an Adam & The Ants special on Nickelodeon "Meow." This aired on local Chicago TV on Monday, November 1st 1982 during the 8:30pm to 9:00pm timeframe.
